VILLEFRANCHE-DE-CONFLENT
Villefranche-de-Conflent is an eleventh century French medieval town in the Pyrenees-Orientales region of Occitanie. It is on the N116 to Andorra and lies at the foot of Mt Canigou. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in France. Villefranche is one of the 14 sites constructed or fortified in the seventeenth century by the military architect Vauban, and is considered a UNESCO World listing. Inside the fortifications, its narrow cobble-stone lane ways are home to many local crafts merchants and picturesque cafes and shops.
