ESP photo Tours, based in the medieval hill-top village of Cordes-sur-Ciel, offers personal one-on-one or small group photographic tours to the historic Tarn region of Occitanie in southern France. An area that was the centre of the 13th century 'Cathar heresies', and was also one of the first wine growing regions of France. The tours are run by professional photographer Jon Davison and his wife Jude. For our group tours we are joined by Western Australian guest photographer Kingsley Klau.
• The group tour cost covers your accommodation and all meals at the lovely chateau of La Borie Grande, a 10 min drive from Cordes.
• The one-on-one tour cost covers your accommodation and all meals at the intimate La Maison au Puits, a 5 minute drive from Cordes.
For both tours, travel to the photographic sites and pick up from the airport is included. So no more cost to you.
The tours take in these historic places ; Albi, Cordes-sur-Ciel, Penne, Puycelci, Bruniquel, Najac, Castlenau-de-Levis, Belcastel and more. Within these locations we will find ruined castles, pigeonniers, vineyards, sunflower fields, farmscapes, churches and abbeys, medieval fortified towns, villages and much more. The course is designed to help you gain that all important 'photographer's eye', plus free sessions in Photoshop where you get to see just how important post production is now to the craft of photography.
Our courses are fun, informative and inspiring. We pride ourselves on the catering we offer our guests. Our April 2017 tour had a special guest. Jon's daughter Tess is a fabulous Michelin trained chef, having trained and worked at such prestigious establishments as La Manoir aux Quatre Saisons (Oxford), Noma (Copenhagen and Sydney popup), Mugaritz (San Sebastian) and Rockpool (Perth). Plus she was the personal chef to the Australian ambassador in Paris. Tess and her assistant chef Lily will be creating all the menus at La Borie for our 2018 tour!
