This was a major change to create an ensuite out of the access to the upstairs guest bedroom. There was a toilet and small storage room.
In the original images, where the shower is now is where the stairs started. The solution to accessing the bedroom was to create a spiral staircase off the kitchen.

Same position as before. Note the spiral stair encasing wall to the left. You cans the old stair outline on the wall. But Momo found tiles on the wall, so maybe this was once a kitchen.
