LINES

COMPOSITION - Lines

Lines can lead the viewer to or from an object, or they can imply a thought or concept.
1: A tour boat passes the iconic Eiffel Tower, yet nobody seems to notice it. There are so many lines going every which way that maybe they don’t know what to look at. Overall it is a confusing image yet it works.

2: Again, the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Part of the towers steel support frame looked to me like a giant cross that the crowd of people were carrying, like some sort of post apocalyptic exodus. The sky had drama in it that only added to the scene. I thought a mono treatment would highlight this more.
These were my reasons for capturing these images. If my reason had been different, then so would have the end result been. So here the mono lines are more of a background tapestry rather than direction, compared to the colour frames which are more directional.
