LANDSCAPES
SUBJECTS - Shooting land, sky & cloudscapes
In each of these categories try and make sure that the scape you are after dominates. Meaning, if it’s a cloudscape, then 75% of the image should ideally be clouds. Another thing is to try and incorporate something that can guide the eye, be it a line or another visual element that leads the viewer, or offers a juxtaposition. The shot of the farm in Iceland infers that our endeavours are no match for both the power of the clouds or the mountain. In this case try and make the human element minimal to reinforce this message, by making the horizon lower in the frame. The shot from Mt Etna with the winding trail leads our eye to the land below, letting us know that the mountain is indeed high.
